Port of Tallinn serviced a record 8.5 mln passengers in 2011

The number of passengers who used the Port of Tallinn grew in 2011 by 7% to a record 8.5 million passengers, LETA/National Broadcasting reports.
8.48 million passengers used the ports operated by the company, a growth by 0.56 million. The number of passengers did not fall on any routes.
The number of passengers on the new Tallinn-St Petersburg route was 114,000 and the number of traditional cruise passengers grew by 13% to 443,000.
The company's cargo transport volume was at the same level as the year before. Port of Tallinn handled 36.5 million tonnes of cargo, which was by 0.5% less than in 2010. Liquid cargo growth was highest, by 0.6 million tonnes or 2%.
AS Tallinna Sadam consists of five ports: Vanasadam, Muuga port, Paldiski Southe Port, Paljassaare Port and Saaremaa Port.
