KLASCO tran sshipped
8% less cargo in 2013

In 2013, the SC Klaipeda Stevedoring
Compan y (KLASCO) tran shipped 12.4 million of tones of cargos. As
compared to 2012, this was 8% less, reports LETA/ELTA.
It is plan ned that this year the compan y's
cargo flow will be influenced by the development of the terminals an d the improvement of the port's infrastructure
which have lasted for 2 years.
"2013
was not the easy year. The difficult situation in world's man ure market an d
the closure of the line of ferries Klaipeda-Zasnicas made the situation even worse
because we lost the part of the cargo flow," said Director General of the KLASCO Audrius Pauza.
According
to Pauza, the positive tendencies were noticed in the sphere of grain export.
Pauza highlighted that the project of the development of the grain terminal
which was implemented in 2011 an swered
the purpose.
"2014 will be a special year for the KLASCO.
We plan to finish one of the biggest
investments projects in our history – in the second quarter of 2014, the new
storage of the man ure an d the lan ding
– loading lines will start operating," said Pauza.
SC Klaipeda Stevedoring Compan y (KLASCO) is a port enterprise operating at a
high technological level.

Confederation of Industrialists gran ted
KLASCO the status of a successful enterprise for its rapid production an d technological growth in 2000 an d 2005. In 2007, the Lithuan ian Logistics Association awarded KLASCO its newly
established award for achievements in the area of logistics. Several
specialists of the enterprise have been decorated with the Badge of Honour of
Sea Tran sport Worker.
