Dockworkers across India’s 12 largest ports have agreed to go on an indefinite strike from August 28, after long-running pay negotiations have failed to conclude.

The previous pay contract expired in December 2021 and wage negotiations
have failed to deliver a result in the intervening years.
Logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel warned that the impending
strike could severely disrupt cargo movement, leading to delays, increased
costs, and congestion.
