A strong message to Hutchison Ports Gydnia
Today, 05.06.2019, European Dockers unions delivered a strong and clear message to Hutchison Ports Gydnia: end the anti-union agenda and reinstate NSZZ Solidarność organiser Marek Szymczak now!
ITF Dockers Section vice chair Niek Stam called
for Hutchison to act: "Mr Cheng, if you are a decent man, and if Hutchison
is a decent terminal operator with decent standards, then we should sit down
together to get a decent solution here. We cannot talk about decent behavior or
good faith if workers can be sacked for doing union
work. In the Port of Rotterdam, we have
a big Hutchison terminal, a terminal that Hutchison can be proud of. But we will never accept the behavior of Gdynia's management. It is a discrage and a shame of the industry. Mr Cheng take
responsibility and let's solve this now!"
