In January-March cargo handling in the Baltic Eastern Seaports grew by 13.4%

Throughout January-March 2012 the overall cargo handling in the Baltic Eastern Seaports totalled 81 747,9 thou. tons, the change is +13.4% or +9 677,7 thou. tons year-on-year, informed BC the press service pf Klaipeda Port.

Key cargo categories making the biggest impact on this growth were as follows: coal (+3 403,8 thou. tons yoy), oil products (+3 012,6 thou. tons yoy) and crude oil (+1 566,4 thou. otns yoy).

2 103,1 thou. tons were handled in Būtingės terminal throughout the analysed period (handling rates in Būtingės terminal have not been  analysed thereinafter).
