Last November's export totals were down by 9 percent compared with the same month of 2012 - the sixth straight month of year-on-year decline - while imports remained at the same level, Statistics Estonia announced today.

The month's exports came in at 1.06 billion euros and imports at 1.15 billion euros.
Statistics Estonia said that the year-on-year export decline was mainly due to lower figures for electrical equipment and chemical products, which were down by 23 percent and 30 percent, respectively.

The losses were offset somewhat by a 14 percent increase in exports of wood and wood products, and an 18 percent increase in exports of transport equipment.

Electrical equipment took up the largest share of Estonia's total exports for the month - 19 percent, followed by agricultural products and foodstuffs (13 percent) and mineral products including motor fuel, shale oil and electricity (11 percent).

On the import side, electrical equipment also took the biggest share at 17 percent, while mineral products accounted for 13 percent of the total, and agricultural products and foodstuffs made up 12 percent.
